Performance & tutoring

Your performance of the Bach Partita no.3 brought tears to my eyes – a rare event, but the whole programme was interesting and perfect … with best wishes,
Murry Elliott [audience member, 8/11/2002]

A fine Christmas concert came from the Ensemble of the Golden Age at Trinity Grammar School. …This is a group of considerable merit.
Fred Blanks, The Northern Herald [Sydney] 8/1/1998.

The success of the concert was I believe due in many ways to your leadership of the orchestra in Dido and Aeneas! Your tutoring of the juior players in baroque technique really bore fruit in the performance! Thank you again, Sincerely,
Michael J Hissey, Newington College Assoc. of the Arts. 19/9/1994.

The workshop held at Holy Trinity Church, Erskineville on the 14th of March would have to be the most successful consort workshop I have attended. …Many thanks to Margaret Caley, who is a delight to learn from and listen to;…
Madeleine Rowles, Early Music News, April-May 1993.

…The concert concluded with two works by J.S.Bach. First, the delightful Partita in E major … played impeccably by Caley. The players then combined for a stirring rendition of Bach’s Sonata for Violin and Harpsichord, BWV 1019. The virtuosity of the performers was enhanced by their enlightening comments on the pieces they played to a large and appreciative audience.
